My Story
My name is Brendon, and for the last 8 years I’ve also been The Ceramic Guy. I’ve lived and breathed cars since I was a kid, and now I get to play around with them for a living. I am extremely grateful!
Over the years I’ve seen paint protection evolve rapidly and it’s been a pleasure to evolve with it, and to be able to share that knowledge with the world. As it stands today, I’m proud to have written guides for consumers and other professionals that have reached hundreds of thousands of people across the world.
I offer a range of services, and specialize in coating systems. I’ve worked with a good chunk of the brands available to the market today, and have tested 30+ coatings to finally land on the three that I offer today. I have personally applied more than 1000 coatings, in all conditions, on all types of cars.
Rest assured, your car will be worked on by me personally, and not someone who does not care about you, or what your vehicle means to you. Your car is the second largest purchase you’ll ever make, and that is not a fact that ever slips my mind.

Self Healing Graphene coatings have been in testing for many years and have been used in other applications, such as in the aviation industry. Be aware! There are many fakes and not all graphene coatings are created equal!

What's the difference between ceramic, graphene and borophene coatings?
They share the same goal, a hard, glossy, hydrophobic layer over your paint, but differ in chemistry and durability. Ceramic is the proven standard, but as a formula is a little out dated, graphene adds self-healing capabilities and extra slickness, and borophene pushes durability further again, using specialty polysilazane resins to increase bonding and density. This allows for extra resistance to abrasives, chemicals and UV damage. These formulas last for up to around ten years depending on the product.
How long does paint protection last?
It depends on the system. Entry level dealership ceramic coatings typically last a few years, while premium graphene and borophene systems are rated for ten years with proper maintenance.
Do I need paint correction before coating?
Any coating will lock in whatever is already on the paint — swirls, scratches and all. We always recommend paint correction prior to a coating, even on a new car
Is ceramic coating better than wax?
Yes. Wax needs reapplying every few weeks and offers minimal protection. Ceramic coatings are far harder, last years rather than weeks, and make ongoing maintenance significantly easier.
Can coatings stop scratches?
No coating makes paint scratch-proof. What they do is add a hard, sacrificial layer that resists light marring and swirls far better than bare paint. Most scratching is caused during the washing process, and because these products make it a million times easier to clean the car, you end up avoiding scratches indirectly.
